It focuses on building confidence in recognising incidents, prioritising actions, and providing immediate support while awaiting professional help, with strong emphasis on personal safety, legal responsibilities, and effective communication.
The course covers core first aid principles, including casualty assessment, CPR and AED awareness, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and common medical emergencies. You will also explore hygiene, risk assessment, environmental factors, and decision-making techniques, ensuring they can respond calmly, act within their competence, and support positive outcomes.
Please note that this is not an official first aid qualification, as it does not include the practical assessment or hands-on application of first aid techniques. However, the course does provide an opportunity to develop awareness and understanding of administering first aid and basic life support procedures in emergency situations.
